My first Blog Give Away: The Book Hook

Now that I've introduced you to the Book Hook I'm excited to do my first blog giveaway.  Did you like the Book Hook?  Do you want it on your night stand so you can place your book on it?  Do you want to put it on your book case?  It is stunning anywhere you put it.  Like Heidi Klum said: German engineering = sexy.

I want to give the book hook to someone who likes to read.  (makes sense right?)  I did a lot of reading in 2011 and ended the year by making the first book hook for my sister Arwen.   I reviewed all the books I read on my Goodreads account and I'm going to post them on lifeoftheriddle.

How to get the Book Hook.

1.  Make a comment about one of my book reviews (upcoming) on one of the next 4 blog posts where I will review all the books I read in 2011 per season.  Let me know if you liked one or more of the books, or liked/disliked my reviews -or- post your own review of one of the books.
2. Leave a comment on this post and tell me how you would use the book hook.  Be creative.
3.  Become a follower of my blog.

I'm going to have my "committee" composing of me, Megan (remember she was present during the making of the book hook.) and Arwen my sister and recipient of the first Book Hook choose a winner.  All comments need to be finished by March 6, 2012.   Megan, Arwen and I will choose winners by March 10th.

If you don't win please make sure to order your own Book Hook from the German website:  http://www.connox.com/categories/accessories/book-accessories/book-hook.html
You can always make your own like I did, but it was really a lot harder than it looked, and you need fancy equipment.  After making one 30 euros seemed like a steal.  Truly.

Book Hook give away here we go!

P.S. Sorry international readers.  I really can't afford to ship it to India or Europe.

I want it. I'm your husband and I'll get jealous if I don't have one too.

I would love a book hook. With almost five children I don't get a lot of time to read so the books might spend more time on it than with my nose. And I seriously want to make my three oldest children jealous, because I know they will be. . .

Joanie - are you really going to make me work for the book hook?

Oh, well, here we go...

5 Ways I'll Use the Book Hook:
1) As a bookmark, in place of my typical what-can-I-scrounge-up-to-use-as-a-bookmark-oh-wait-here's-a-target-receipt bookmark
2) As a Play-Doh cutter/triangle maker
3) As the roof for next year's Gingerbread house
4) As an ornate megaphone for announcing directions to my students
5) As a short, easily-concealed potato cannon (for triangular potatoes)

Joanie--I want it!

I saw your post about making it and fell in love.

PLUS, even though I am an international reader, I have a US shipping address. Three cheers for diplomatic pouch!

In addition to general book-ish things, the book nook will also likely double as a hanger for my gold spray-painted lingerie. And when necessary it could come in handy for chiseling ice off of my frozen Ukrainian boots.

PLUS, I can show it off to all the people who come to storytime at my house, thus making me an international missionary of book hook joy. C'mon...you know you want to pick me.

P.S. You are my cheezburger.

After reading your book hook post the other day, I had a dream that I was the proud owner of the book hook. That has to count for something.

I would use the book hook as a place-holder (obviously), but also as decoration on the end table next to the seat where I do a lot of my reading. Great conversation piece when pseudo-friends (like VT or HT) come over and I'm reaching for things to talk about.

PS- I'm already a follower of this blog. Again, that should count for something.

I think the real question is, "What wouldn't I do with the Book Hook?"
