as i lay dying

I’m dying. I’m lying on my love seat really wishing it were a full length couch. When I look left I see the coffee table littered with used Kleenex and four kinds of cold medicine. In front of me are the Wasatch mountains out my window the sunlight is shining on them but they are blurry because I think I left my glasses in the other room. As I turn left I see the wall empty of pictures except for the cook clock which is reminding me that my life is slipping away.

tick tick tick

Lack of sleep + low immune system = dying on my uncomfortable couch.

All is not lost!

The bright joy of sunshine aka my husband came through the door just now. He was carrying a bright beautiful Gerber daisy that now ornaments the coffee table along with Kleenex and he brought me peanut m&m’s. I haven’t had some one take care of me since my mom! Marriage is wonderful and worth living for so hopefully I don’t actually die.

“What can I do for you my love?” he asks? I tell him dinner sounds wonderful.

Any moment he will return with chicken soup. Oh how wonderful marriage is.

Hey Joanie,

I am so sorry you are sick. Perhaps a visit to Sunny Arizona would boost you up? :) Or you could do what I do and name your colds the way hurricanes are named. Get the flu shot this year!

Love,
Arwen
