Leipzig by night
Thanks for every ones advice. I guess my last blog really did sound sad. Yesterday was kind of a long hard day. I kept falling asleep during the morning class and no matter what I did I could not stay awake. It was cold and rainy and I think that added to the overall gloom.
Today is just as gloomy but seems brighter for some reason. We are going to a Play, opera, or Ballet every night for the next week solid. Which is very fun and not something that you could do in Salt Lake City. I still miss Spencer miserably but I have Megan which is fun and Deneise our local Leipzig friend to show us around. Thank goodness for Deneise!
Yesterday after class Megan, Deneise and I went to the new Leipzig Art Museum. It was interesting but not quite as fascinating as seeing Queen Nefritiri like I did in Berlin.
After the museum we were all starving so we went to one of those little outdoor restaurants on Barefoot street (Barfuß Straße) that are so popular with the University students. It was picturesque and something I'd always wanted to do. When I was a missionary here I remember walking past the cafes and longing for just one night off to just sit and enjoy all the sights and smells that Germany has to offer. So yesterday we did it and I must say it was wonderful. It is also cool to think that Goethe spent his nights in the same manner when he was a University of Leipzig student. We didn't sit and write something as epic as Faust though. I'll leave that to Goethe.

Take advantage of this incredible experience!!! I am very envious!
I'm glad you are feeling better. Have fun!
I'm glad to see you rebounded. Its always better to have a fresh perspective after a good nights sleep. I think you're a good cooker except when you're cooking yucky vegtables.
It is good to hear that your having a fun time. Keep writing...
Great to hear it!
Not surprised that you can't help but fall asleep! ;) Maybe Germany does that to you. I love reading your blog as you blog about Germany. I'm so jealous! Although not jealous of the hard classes. Eat lots of chocolate for me.
you really didn't write something as epic as Faust? i'm disappointed...he probably wasn't having as much fun though, you know?
jk--did you ever get a hold of Annie? you really should see her while you are in germany!
